There has always been an innate fascination in all cultures throughout history in who is the strongest. The strongman sport is the modern culmination of this fascination, and is the ultimate test of human strength like 100 meters run is the ultimate test of human speed and Olympic gymnastics is the ultimate test of human coordination.

Strongman events have been internationally televised since 1970s, and IFSA emerged as the governing body for the sport in 1995. In 2004, InvestGroup Ventures' sports rights management arm, InvestGroup Sports Management, made significant capital infusions into the sport that lead into the creation of IFSA Strongman, a vehicle that acquired most international assets and properties relating to the strongman sport from various companies and individuals worldwide.

Among the acquisitions was a set of assets that constitute IFSA, the world governing body, and All-Strength, the top TV-platform of the strongman sport.

IFSA Strongman has since signed the top 60 Strongman athletes worldwide with exclusive management contracts, raised further capital in the millions, and created in its first year an official competition calendar with over USD 1m in prize money.

Today, in addition to being the world governing body for the strongman sport, IFSA Strongman is an integrated media, entertainment and athlete representation company, principally engaged in the development, production and marketing of television programming, pay-per-view programming and live events, the licensing and sale of branded consumer products featuring both our brand and the brands of the athletes we represent, and the full life-cycle career management of the best Strongmen in the world. IFSA Strongman is headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, and is privately held.
