IFSA Strongman Ranking System
 

The IFSA Strongman World Ranking for strongman athletes is based on points earned for placings in major competitions, and those placing points then being multiplied by the weight applied to that particular competition. In every IFSA Strongman World Ranking qualified competition, athletes will earn points for placings on the following scale:

First place - 10 points
Second place - 8 points
Third place - 6 points
Fourth place - 5 points
Fifth place - 4 points.
Sixth place - 3 points
Seventh place - 2 points
Eighth place - 1 point

In team events, all members of the team earn the above placing points.
The event weights then used to multiply placing points in different competitions are as follows:

Event type: IFSA Strongman Pan-American / Australian and African Championships
Event Weight: 4

Event type: IFSA Strongman European Championships
Event Weight: 2

Event type: IFSA Strongman World Team Championships
Event Weight: 2 (each team member gets full placing points)

Event type: IFSA Strongman West-European / Balkans / East-European / Nordic Championships
Event Weight: 2

Event type: IFSA Strongman National Championships
Event Weight: 1


NON-TITLE EVENTS
Event type: IFSA Classics (E.g., The Arnold Classic, The Gulf Classic, The World Record Breakers Classic)
Event Weight: 2

Event type: IFSA Grand Prix Events
Event Weight: 1

Event type: IFSA International Challenge Events
Event Weight: 0.5

The 2005 season will be the first in which the IFSA Strongman World Ranking points are calculated, so no historical ranking exists currently.
